Unadorned and even-keeled — cool, clean, no frills.

  • Cool Fact-Slinger

No detours, straight to the point. Clarity is your weapon.

What this quiz is about

The same sentence lands differently depending on who says it. One person stacks on the exclamation points and heart emojis; another delivers the fact clean and unadorned. This quiz puts you in five everyday situations, like comforting someone after bad news, handing out a compliment, or pushing back on an opinion you disagree with, and takes the temperature of the words you'd actually reach for.

Warm doesn't automatically mean better, and cool doesn't mean unkind. Sweetness puts people at ease, though laid on thick it can feel like a lot to live up to. Plainness is refreshing, though on a hard day it can read as indifference. Your temperature isn't a score. It's simply the channel you use to get what you mean across to someone else.

Knowing your usual setting gives you room to move it. Someone who just needs to be heard for a minute gets an extra spoonful of warmth; someone staring down a decision gets it straight, no cushioning. Nudging the dial a degree or two isn't being fake, it's paying attention. Read your result as a starting point you can adjust, not a fixed reading you're stuck with.

FAQ

Is this quiz free?
Yes — My Speech Temperature Test and every other quiz here is free, and you can start right away without signing up.
How long does it take?
5 questions, about 2 minutes.
Are my answers saved?
Your individual answers are never stored — only anonymous counts. Each result has its own link, so you can always come back to it.
Does being a Cool Fact-Slinger mean I come across as cold?
No. Being clear and honest is a genuine strength, and people who want a straight answer will thank you for it. The one adjustment worth making: when someone is hurting, a single line acknowledging how they feel before the advice raises the temperature enormously.
Are you born with a speech temperature?
Temperament plays a part, but the way you talk is mostly habit, and habits move. People who grew up blunt learn to soften; 37°C Affection Bomb types learn when to dial it down. Treat your result as a place to start noticing, not a setting locked in at birth.
